KERKINI: A SMALL PARADISE

Yesterday was a holiday here in Greece. Forty days before Easter. This day nobody works and if the weather is good we go for excursion to the nature and we play with kites. We don 't eat meat, oil, dairy products. Just lenten stuff.
   The weather yesterday was cold but sunny. I took my car and my fiance and we went to Kerkini lake. What is that and where is that? I will tell you right away. Kerkini is the biggest artificial lake in Greece and in whole Europe. It 's located in the prefecture of Serres and it 's 35km away from the city. It was created in 1932 and it has very rare bird, animal and plant species. It 's surrounded by beautiful villages and spectacular mountains and  it 's touristic area. There are a lot of hotels. Thank God they respect the environment.
   There are many activities for visitors there. Horse riding, birds watching, boating, mountain bike, fishing, enduro, off-road driving, hiking into the forest through some specific paths and many more. There is a birds and plants center where a visitor can see interesting things.
   The hotels' prices are really cheap. €50 is the lowest you can find. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee houses where you can enjoy your food, your drink or you coffee and the most of them are traditional decorated.

ONE NIGHT OUT WITH FRIENDS

Sometimes I really don 't understand some people. When they know some stuff or situations they act like they don 't know nothing or they don 't care. They live on their planet and they think it 's the same for all the world. They believe if they have no problems and the rest of people don 't face any problem. What I wanna say? Well, read below and you will understand.
   In a previous article, not long ago, I wrote that I got unemployed before seven months and I look for a job without results so far. That means life for me is not so easy. I get some money as unemployed from the state but they are not enough to pay all the bills. Thank God my fiance works and that 's how we survive.
   Last night we went to a restaurant with some friends. It was really nice. The food, the music, everything. When we asked the bill I saw that it was very expensive. I asked the opinion from the other friendly couples and they told me: "Come on, who cares. You don 't spend that money everyday". Probably they forgot that they work in public services. That means they cannot get fired and they get very good salaries.
   During the time we were in the restaurant my friend 's wife said: "Let 's go tomorrow in a Chinese restaurant downtown". I tried to avoid to answer 'cause my situation it was not the best and it was embarrassing to say affront everyone that my fiance and I we cannot afford going out every night. I had no luck at all and she insisted. I had to say we don 't like Chinese food. Bad excuse but what else could I do? The same lady continued. "In four days there is a concert in the city. Do you want to go all together?". I was really pissed off. Hello lady, what have i said two minutes ago? She knows our financial situation but she keeps on proposing expensive stuff to do, like trips, concerts fancy restaurants etc.
   As you understood the night was like hell for me. This lady didn 't want to stop at all. She said: "We go to the gym, why don 't you join us?". Then I turned to her husband and i told him: "Can you make your wife to stop? I really feel very uncomfortable".
   Finally the whole torture finished only when we left from the restaurant. I really don 't get it. Did she enjoy all this or not yet?

A NICE SONG FOR EUROVISION

Hi there. Well as I was surfing the net two days ago I have found the Norwegian candidancy for the 2010 Eurovision. Eurovision is a music contest among the countries of Europe and it takes place every year in winner 's country. There is also Eurovision for kids. Through the years we heard beautiful songs and bad songs also. The last years rock music and metal music entered the competition. This is good because there is no more monotony with light, meaningless pop songs  and a mass of wannabe pop stars in one night. Personally I like rock music and metal as well.
   So... The Norwegian band is Keep of Kalessin and they are gonna participate in Eurovision with their song : Dragontower. Keep of Kalessin is a black metal band but their song Dragontower is really melodic and I can say that is easy listening. Well there is nothing else to say. I put their video with their song below. I am so gonna vote for them. That's for sure. Enjoy!
